2026 Great Wolf Lodge

What happens when you combine courage, community, and a fun-filled weekend?
You get unforgettable memories.

This October, Help A Child Smile hosted its first-ever family weekend at Great Wolf Lodge. Families enjoyed a one-night stay, waterpark access, meals, parking, and a Halloween dance party filled with laughter and joy.
For our children and families, it was more than a getaway. It was a chance to pause, recharge, and simply be together, leaving hospitals and treatment behind, even if only for a weekend.

Our mission has always been simple: SMILES

And thanks to our incredible volunteers, donors, fundraising partners, and supporters, we can keep making moments like these possible.

Thank you for helping us bring joy when it matters most.

Here are a few comments from our families that attended:
“My daughter has and continues to experience so much pain with her cancer journey. It is priceless as parents to be given the gift of fun and experiences to help balance it out and remind us as a family that life is worth fighting for. With hundreds of appointments over the last three years, we can’t imagine the increased financial strain…beyond me not being able to work to support her… if it wasn’t for their hospital parking support and other services. Deeply grateful!”

“Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the special opportunity to stay at Great Wolf Lodge. It makes such an impact after battling cancer for nearly 5 years and provides a chance to just be a kid and have fun together. We are so grateful.”

“One of the biggest challenges of dealing with the constant appointments and ongoing chemotherapy and behavioural ups and downs that come with all that is making future plans to do things as a family. This event gave them (and us) something to look forward to and get excited about knowing that there were other families going through the same thing. The timing ended up being perfect for R and he enjoyed it so much. When we said good bye he asked when we would be able to come back and he hasn’t ever voiced that before about an over night trip.”
